TIKEHAU - The Pink Sand Island
According to Jacques Cousteau’s research crew this atoll holds the highest concentration of fish outnumbering people one-billion-to-one which makes it ideal for diving. The only village is Tuherahera where most of the islands inhabitants live and where you can find snack shops and local restaurants. A must see is the islet known as Motu Puarua, known as Bird Island, a natural aviary with numerous species of sea birds.
